2.years.

Two yrs ago today I was walking down the aisle to be joined as one flesh to my prince.

Now, living in a new city, in a new state with a brand new baby and puppy I am more in love then that day.

There have been ups and downs. Laughter and tears. From living in our first apartment together to driving across country. From raising our little puppy to bringing home our baby boy. Life has been so so amazing and God has blessed us.

Normally I would post a million pictures of our wedding but I leave you with one of us exchanging our vows.
My prayer is that we will live out our vows every single day.

With all that I am and all that I have, I honor you. I promise to be your faithful and loving wife. I pledge my whole life and self to you.
I give myself to you, to have and to hold on this day forward - in the good and difficulty of life, no matter what comes. I will love and cherish you as long as we both live.

Promises, love, and more love. -Monics

This day last year....

.... I became his beloved wife!

Yup, today is my one year anniversary with the ever-so-handsome Mr. V. I am still in complete shock that a whole year has passed since our wedding!
We celebrated this weekend with a surprise trip to Atlanta, GA to go to a concert! I will write more about that tomorrow because today I am so gushy and reminiscent on my beautiful wedding day.

Lets take a trip down memory lane. (dream harp music)

2011

Well the year 2011 is almost gone. I am still in shock that 2012 is almost here!

So many amazing things happened this past year. Lets take a walk down memory lane (bee dee doo dee bee doop du dooo. *that is flashback music*)

At the end of the year 2010... i did get engaged to a wonderful man!
The early months of 2011 were filled with a million wedding decisions and changes. My wedding was at first going to look like this:
A room filled with red roses and black and white accents.... but half way through.. i changed it to this:
Beautiful fuchsia all over and dark plums scattered all around. Gerbera daisies all about. :)

I planned and planned and planned majority of the first half of 2011. In May i turned 24 years old... and also in May my wonderful then Fiance graduated from his ministry school and returned home. We met him at the airport.. signs in hands.
Nine months of long distance (4 of the months while we were engaged) prepared me for his job where he had to travel. hehe.
I remember seeing him walking up to us.. i remember being so nervous! As he approached us he looked soo different for some reason. My heart was pounding and my hands were sweating. "THIS is the man. THIS is the man i will be marrying", i thought. We hugged and my heart finally started to calm down. That was our little beginning to our happily ever after. :)

In June 2011 Martin and i got approved for our new little apartment. Looking at it then.. it looked small.. now that i live in it.. it feels even smaller! hehe. We also started learning and growing with pre-marital mentoring.. and Martin started working.

July and the beginning of August was filled with last minute details. Martin working a lot out of town. And paying all the bills for the wedding.

August 20th, 2011 i became a Mrs.
My wedding was definitely the highlight of the year 2011.

The next 4 months has been filled with cooking, cleaning, and learning to be a wife to my husband.

I am sooo excited for the new year 2012! :)

weddings. weddings. weddings.

My friend, beautiful Shawna, got married on 9.10.11!

It was outside at her local church, with the reception inside. I thought i would be all weddinged out with my wedding just 3 weeks ago.... but i had a lot of fun!

I came on Friday night and finished up baking the cupcakes. She did almost everyone DIY! I couldnt have done that but i am proud she did!
baking the cupcakes
She even made her daughter's flower girl dress!!!
her daughter was my flower girl too (:
It was a very short and sweet ceremony... with a quote that was used at my wedding that i LOVED about Eve coming from Adam's side.
"Woman was created from the rib of man.
She was not made from his head to top him,
nor out of his feet to be trampled upon,
but out of his side, to be equal to him;
under his arm, to be protected;
and near his heart, to be loved."

LOVE IT!

Her colors were soo fun too! Pink, yellow, blue, and purple. (: From flowers (which i put together before the ceremony) to details on the tables the colors were everywhere. (:
Her girls all wore different color dresses - which i thought was really nice.
the bride and her bridesmaids (:

The bride piped the cupcakes just moments before the ceremony was starting...and they turned out perfect!!!
my little pink cupcake. (:
Her maid of honor made the top two tier cake too! It turned out really cute!

Her whole family was involved too. Her maid of honor (who was in blue) walked in with her daughter (the flower girl also in blue). Her sister (bridesmaid.. who was in yellow) then walked with her son (who had a little yellow tie). And then her youngest sister (bridesmaid in pink) walked with her youngest son (who had a tiny little pink tie) So precious!
Shawna's two sons
Overall Shawna was a beautiful bride and i am sooo happy i got to be apart of her big day!
Congratulations Shawna!

His Mrs. (:

Well, it finally came! I am happily his beloved wife!!! (:

The rehearsal went sooo well! Everyone was there to help and set up all the tables and linens. (: We practiced how the ceremony would generally go.. and i didnt get emotional. (:

The wedding day was absolutely perfect!
We got up super early and had breakfast at the hotel and immediately started getting ready. I got my hair done first and i LOVED the end result! The inbetween was a little funny. hehe. (she curled all of my hair and pinned it all over my hair).

I got my makeup done at the MAC counter and it was soo fun! i had never done that before and i loved it! i got fake lashes and everything! (:

After my sis-in-law and i were done getting beautified at MAC we decided to go to In n Out and get some delicious food before the ceremony. I had NEVER seen In n Out that busy before! There was a drive thru line out to the street and like 300 people inside!!! We were waiting for ever! My hair was all done and my make up was applied and i was in pjs! lol. We had to be at the ceremony site at 1pm to get take pics and put our dresses on and it was like noon! We FINALLY got our food (after i silently commanded that I was the bride!) and left to the ceremony site.
yummy in-n-out!

We ate our food and put our dresses on. We took TONS of pics in the heat outside! Then we were rushed into the room so that i couldn't see my groom before walking down the aisle. While waiting, me and my girls were spying on our guests while they walked in with excitement!
the flower girl and i looking outside.

An hour or so later it was time to line up.

My girls walked down... then the ring bearer and flower girl and i was FINALLY allowed to get out of the little room. My two brothers met me in the hallway and i joked that i needed to pee. We started laughing and giggling until... i could see my groom waiting for me. I walked down the aisle with tears swelling in my eyes trying my hardest to not look at the guests surrounding me. I just locked eyes with my groom and walked towards him. My brothers lovingly gave me away and i was then joined with my groom. (: We had a BEAUTIFUL ceremony with wonderful words, gorgeous music, and beautiful communion. i loved every minute of it!

We were announced Mr. and Mrs. and we walked outside. (: We took AMAZING pictures with our bridal party and then took absolutely STUNNING pictures of just him and i. i cannot wait to get them all.
this is us walking back in the reception being announced husband and wife.

We had a very fun reception with dinner and dancing and all of our guests enjoyed themselves. (:

NOW... we have been married almost 3 weeks and it has been soo fun! I am enjoying getting to know my new husband even more. We are excited for what God has planned for our new life together.
